2000 MINIATURES EXCHANGE RULES

PURPOSE:  To exchange small swatches from the book "Original 
Miniature Patterns for Hand Weaving by Josephine E. Estes.  
This is a learning/teaching experience for all participants.

The swatches you receive in return will all be different.  If all 
goes well, you'll get 44 swatches (part 1), 38 swatches (part 2).

RESTRICTION:  you must have e-mail to participate.

SIGN UP DEADLINE:  As soon as enough are committed.  Others will be 
            placed on a waiting-list.

     ** your full name, snail-mail address, otherwise, you won't be
          signed-up !!

DELIVERY DEADLINE TO ME:  April 1, 2000 (part 1)
                          July 1, 2000 (part 2)
-- including (FOR EACH PACKAGE sent to me):
     (1)  money
           USA residents: check US$6.00 or equivalent of your postage 
              to me (whichever is greater)           
           CANADIAN/INTERNATIONAL residents:  check/money order       
              for US$9.00 or equivalent of your postage to me         
              (whichever is greater)
           No stamps, no IRC (no international reply coupons)         
           Any extra $ to be given to charity
     (1) return address label
     including (FOR EACH swatch):        
           pattern name (a/b/c)
           number of repeats of the pattern
           fiber you used for warp & weft
           epi/ppi
     DO NOT INCLUDE THE PATTERN/DRAFT/DRAWDOWN
          (optional) -- short bio
          (optional) -- picture of yourself or your loom(s)
     Place each swatch & info in a separate sandwich baggie.
     ALL above to be packaged in a large plastic, then 
          placed in a sturdy box or Tyvek envelope

IMPORTANT:  your return address & mine should be covered with 
     clear tape on the box

SEND TO: my address will be provided to the participants

RETURN TO YOU:  approximately April 15, 2000 (part 1)
                approximately July 15, 2000 (part 2)
SPECIFICATIONS:
     to weave:  a cloth of miniatures (which you will cut into 24 / 22
         swatches) for EACH pattern assigned to you
     size:  each swatch to show 2-3 repeats, whatever it takes (I'll  
        give some guidelines about this) -- more repeats if you wish
     fiber:  your choice, but no less than 24 epi/ppi.  In fact,      
        please attempt from 36-40+
     finishing:  washed/pressed & enough to secure ends (machine      
        zig-zag, serge, etc.)

OTHER ADMINISTRATION:
     Mailings:  I will not be responsible for any loss/damage in the
     mail of any package which is sent to me or sent from me. Let me
     know when & how you've sent the package.

    Complaints:  I will not attempt to listen to any complaints,
    privately nor on the list.  We will all be learning/teaching here,
    so if you can't accept all that is written above, then please
    don't participate.
